More Museums Offering Sleepovers to Scouts
Have you spent a night with your Cub Scouts...in a museum?! It's not just the stuff of movies. More museums all across the country are offering overnight outings for Scouting units and other youth groups. They combine the adventure of a campout with the educational experience in a museum. Your Cub Scouts will also get to feel like they are doing something out of the ordinary and something others might never get the chance to do on a regular basis. But it's more than just a fun night in the museum. These museum sleepovers can also help your Cub Scouts with advancement opportunities. They often facilitate activities that harmonize with Scouting curriculum and satisfy belt loop requirements. Another element not to overlook is the season. Not only are these programs a fun adventure for Cub Scouts,...View
Cub Scouts Changes Are Afoot!
So, did you happen to hear about the changes coming to the Cub Scouts? They're pretty big. Cub Scouts will have to tick off a set of Adventures to earn their rank badges, with some electives thrown in. Also, Tiger Cubs are going to be just regular old Tigers (we never said "Bear Cub" or "Wolf Cub," so it's only fair). Oh, and the Adventures all have new belt loops that the kiddos get after achieving them. You can find every single detail about the program in the Program Change Overview. And if you want a more complete rundown, check out Bryan's Blog. There's plenty of time to get familiar with this stuff. We don't get started until the 2015-2016. One more thing: if you just want a broad look...View

Oh, and a pretty amazing hammock. Can't forget the hammock. All you had to do was comment on one of four pictures that we posted on our Facebook Page. So the big question: Did you win? Well, if you're one of these people, you sure did: Kylene Clay-Adkins — sleeping bag Gretchen Flotow — camp chair Scott Nagy — rain...View
